The second week of NUO Clinic Tiruvallur Premier League (TPL) 2.0 brought with it a series of thrilling encounters, showcasing the grit, determination, and tactical prowess of all competing teams. Fans were treated to some fantastic hockey, with teams building on their previous performances, while others sought redemption. Here’s a breakdown of today’s action, team standings, and key statistics from the tournament so far.


Match 1: AGORC 3 - 1 S M Nagar

The first match of the day saw AGORC put on a dominant display, securing a convincing 3-1 victory over S M Nagar. AGORC's attack was clinical, with Dhamu opening the scoring with a field goal in the 44th minute. Nambi Ganeshfollowed up with a penalty corner strike in the 53rd minute, and Shanumugam sealed the deal with another field goal just five minutes before the final whistle. S M Nagar managed a consolation goal from a penalty stroke in the 52nd minute, converted by A Raja.

Match 2: Dhyand Veerans 4 - 1 Pattabiram Strikers

Dhyand Veerans continued their strong run in the league with a dominant 4-1 victory over Pattabiram Strikers. The match started with Laxman Karan netting an early penalty corner in the 19th minute. Ashwin, continuing his incredible form, scored a field goal in the 51st minute, followed by Akhil and Suraj, who both found the net in the 57th and 58th minutes, respectively. Pattabiram Strikers managed a late response, with Abisheik scoring from a penalty corner in the 57th minute.




Match 3: Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu XI 3 - 3 Moscow Magic (HUT XI Wins in Shootout 3-1)

The final match of the day was a nail-biting encounter between Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu XI (HUT XI) and Moscow Magic. The match ended in a 3-3 draw after regulation time, with HUT XI emerging victorious in the shootout, winning 3-1. HUT XI earned 1 bonus point for their shootout win.


HUT XI got off to a flying start, with Shanmugam scoring a field goal in just the 4th minute. C Dineshkumar added a penalty corner goal in the 22nd minute, and J Joshua Benedict Wesley found the back of the net with another field goal in the 47th minute.


Moscow Magic fought hard, with Aravind scoring two quick goals in the 11th and 17th minutes. Suresh Babu added another goal in the 20th minute, ensuring a 3-3 scoreline at full-time. However, they faltered in the shootout, allowing HUT XI to take home the bonus point.

This type of injury happens when the bone around the cheek is broken due to impact. He was given immediate medical attention on the field by sorts physicians from Sri Ramachandra Centre for Sports Science and transferred to the hospital for further care.

    Scans have shown that he will need surgery to repair the fracture, and unfortunately, he will be sidelined for the rest of the league.
