From a local dream to a regional movement, the Tiruvallur Premier League (TPL) has rewritten the playbook on what a grassroots hockey league can be.
Now, as we gear up for TPL 3.0, set to take off from August 11–30, 2025 at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium, Egmore, we pause to honor our roots — and launch into our most exciting chapter yet.
A Quick Look Back: From Porur to Pride
TPL 1.0 (2023) was nothing short of a hockey carnival. Hosted at the Sri NPV Ramasamy Udayar Turf in Porur, it brought together raw passion and community spirit.
🏆 KGS Hockey Academy emerged champions, edging out Moscow Magic and Dhyand Veerans in a thrilling finish.
The prize ceremony, led by Padmashri V. Baskaran and hockey stalwarts like K. Jothikumaran, was a celebration of talent, tenacity, and Tiruvallur’s hockey heart.
It wasn’t just about medals — it was about discovering the 11 fresh faces who would become the future of the sport.
TPL 2.0 (2024) took things up a notch. Still at Porur, this edition saw elite institutional teams enter the fray.
In a high-octane final between Income Tax and Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, it was Income Tax who lifted the trophy and laid down the marker: the big boys are here, and they mean business.
TPL 3.0: The Game Changes Now
Now, in 2025, the league explodes into the heart of Chennai — with a move to the iconic Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium, Egmore.
