Dhyand Veerans Dominate Hockstars with 10-0 Victory in Tiruvallur Premier Hockey League

On an unusually rainy and cold day in Porur, Dhyand Veerans put on a hockey clinic against the Hockstars, winning the game 10-0. The game was delayed for an hour due to rain, but it did not stop the Veerans from dominating the match from the start.

The first goal came from Laxman Karan in the 7th minute via a penalty stroke, and Sanjay Xalco scored a field goal in the 12th minute to make it 2-0. The Veerans continued to pile on the pressure, with their Dragflick specialist Prithvi scoring a drag flick from a penalty corner in the 18th minute. Sanjay Xalco scored three more goals in the 21st, 55th, and 59th minutes, completing a hat-trick. Barla scored in the 44th minute, and Dhillepan scored twice in the 45th and 55th minutes. Captain Laxman Karan scored a screamer in the 48th minute, tearing the net in the right corner. Tete with a stunner in the 57th minute.

Veerans about to score a goal

The Hockstars midfield played with grace and produced some brilliant counterattacks, but they were unable to break through the Veerans' defense. Despite the scoreline, Hockstars captain Somesh was proud of his team's efforts, saying, "We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we never gave up. We'll come back stronger from this."

On the other hand, Dhyand Veerans captain Laxman Karan was pleased with his team's performance, saying, "We executed our game plan perfectly today. We were clinical in front of the goal and kept the pressure on the Hockstars throughout the game. I'm proud of the way we played today."

With this win, Dhyand Veerans start their league with a statement and will run as favorites to win the title. The Hockstars, on the other hand, will look to bounce back in their next game and get their season back on track. Shyam Kumar was adjudged Man of the Match for his astonishing assists. Despite the rainy weather, the crowd turned up in full force to witness the match. The enthusiastic crowd cheered for both teams, with some even taking shelter under the shed and some drenching themselves in rain. The rain did not dampen their spirits, and they continued to support their favorite teams until the final whistle.

The tournament director Padmashri V Baskaran acknowledged the support of the crowd, saying, "The crowd was amazing today. Their support gives us an extra boost, and we're grateful for that." It was a testament to the love and passion for the sport of hockey in Tiruvallur.
