Pattabiram Strikers and Avadi Blues clashed in a thrilling game today at the Sri NPV Ramasamy Udayar Hockey Centre in Porur. The game was a must-watch for any hockey fan, and both teams brought their A-game to the field.

In the first quarter, both teams were equally matched, with no goals scored by either side. Avadi Blues had a strong start with their wide spreadout play and regular passes, while Pattabiram Strikers appeared a bit off-shade.

The second quarter saw an increase in the pace of the game, and Pattabiram Strikers' experienced midfield pushed forward, resulting in their first goal via a connection from Kalai, who received a through pass from Dinesh in the 29th minute. The goal came as a relief to the Strikers, who had struggled to get past Rajkumar, the Blues' goalkeeper, who had been like a wall in front of the goalpost.

Avadi Blues appeared more mature and played as a unit in the third quarter, with Gugan, who is back from a hamstring injury, holding the midfield with Hari. The Blues made several unforced errors in the right flank, giving away the ball cheaply. They earned back-to-back penalty corners, but their dependable drag-flicker, Santha, failed to convert.

The fourth and final quarter saw some nail-biting moments, with Jagan of the Blues trying a couple of tomahawks over the goalpost. However, it was Sudharshan of the Pattabiram Strikers who converted a set play with a deep push into the goal, which went in easily in front of a blinded goalkeeper in the 60th minute.

Speaking after the game, the manager of Pattabiram Strikers Mr Perumal said, "I'm pleased with the performance of my team today. We played well as a unit and capitalized on our chances. We need to keep up this momentum in our upcoming games."

Meanwhile, a disappointed team manager SM Hamesh Kumar of Avadi Blues said, "We played well in patches, but our unforced errors cost us the game. We need to regroup and come back stronger in our next match."
