🕒 Time: 15:30 hrs | 📅 Date: 22nd August 2025
Day 12 of NUO Clinic – Tiruvallur Premier League 3.0 brought Egmore alive yet again as AGORC (Accountant General’s Office Recreation Club) and Southern Railway Sports Association delivered a hockey classic. End-to-end action, five goals, and a finale that underlined why AGORC are emerging as a deep contender for the title.
🚀 First Strike – AGORC Draw First Blood
AGORC stamped their intent early. In the 5th minute, Chiran Medappa (No. 13) showed sharp instincts, finishing a fine move with a field goal to make it 1–0.
⚖️ Railway’s Response
Southern Railway fought back in Q2. Sethu Pandian (No. 19) fired in a penalty corner in the 16th minute, drawing the teams level. The score stood 1–1 at halftime with both sides refusing to back down.
🔄 Tit-for-Tat in Q3
The third quarter kept fans on the edge:
34th minute – Dinesh Kumar C (No. 9, S.Rly) converted a penalty corner to make it 2–1.
45th minute – Dhamu (No. 23, AGORC) responded with a neat field goal, restoring parity at 2–2.
🎯 The Decider – Veera Tamizhan, Again
The final quarter saw AGORC press hard. In the 57th minute, Veera Tamizhan V (No. 77) converted a penalty corner— an almost exact replay of his goal from the previous match, same drag, same precision. Egmore erupted, knowing they had seen something special.
That strike sealed it AGORC 3–2 Southern Railway.
Southern Railway's goalkeeper pulled off multiple saves late in the game, ensuring Railway stayed alive till the last seconds, but AGORC’s grit proved decisive.
🏅 Man of the Match
In a well-fought battle, Shanmugam P (No. 17, Southern Railway) was recognised for his tireless midfield engine work. The Man of the Match medal was presented by Mr. Sridaran, Treasurer, Hockey Tiruvallur.

📣 Manager Quotes
V. Shanmugam (AGORC Manager):
“This is the AGORC spirit. Three different scorers, total team effort. And what can we say about Veera? Back-to-back penalty corner goals, carbon copies — he’s turning into our trump card. We’re not just competing; we’re aiming for the title.”
Senthilnathan (Southern Railway Manager):
“We fought till the last second. Credit to our boys, especially Shanmugam and our goalkeeper Suresh, who kept us alive. Losing hurts, but matches like this show why TPL is special. We’ll bounce back.”
🏑 The Verdict
This was hockey theatre at its best: AGORC showing depth, Railway showing grit.
With two strong Super Six performances already, AGORC are emerging as a genuine contender for the TPL 3.0 crown.
Egmore roared again, and South Indian hockey took another step forward.
