This year, we are delighted to welcome back the Madras Nationals team after a two-year hiatus. Their return is sure to reignite old rivalries and add a layer of excitement to the tournament. Known for their resilience and tactical brilliance, the Nationals are ready to make a powerful comeback and prove their mettle against formidable opponents.

Missing Titans: A Void Left by Absence

While the anticipation for Masters League 3.0 is palpable, the absence of some iconic teams adds a bittersweet note to this year’s competition. The Tamil Nadu Veterans, champions of the inaugural edition and runners-up of the second edition, will be dearly missed. Their legacy of excellence and sportsmanship has left an indelible mark on the tournament’s history.

Additionally, the absence of the Madras Veterans, finalists of the first edition, leaves a noticeable void. These teams have contributed immensely to the league’s prestige, and their absence this year reminds us of the ever-evolving nature of sports and competition.

This year’s league showcases a mix of seasoned contenders and fresh talent:

• S M Nagar: The defending champions aim to retain their title back-to-back. Will they rise to the occasion again?

• Madurai Veterans and Nilgiris Veterans: Both outstation teams, narrowly missing the top spot last year, are determined to claw their way to victory this time. Their consistent performances make them formidable challengers.

Tournament Format and Schedule

This year’s tournament features 10 teams, divided into two pools, battling it out in a round-robin format:

• Madras Nationals

• United Veterans

• Nilgiris Veterans

The action-packed schedule begins with Madurai Veterans vs United Veterans at 3:30 PM on 7th December 2024, followed by a series of matches every weekend, culminating in the Super 4 Round Robin League, where the top two teams from each pool will compete for the championship.

Game Rules and Exciting Highlights

• Match Duration:

Each game comprises 4 quarters of 12 minutes, with breaks between quarters and halftime.

• In Case of a Draw:

A tie-breaker (Penalty Stroke - 5 each side) will decide the winner, awarding a bonus point.

• Super 4 League:

The top two teams from each pool qualify for the final stage to determine the ultimate champion.
