The Tamilnadu Special Police 5th Battalion Ground in Avadi witnessed a display of skill, teamwork, and sheer determination as the teams battled it out on the field. Match 1: Pattabiram Strikers Showcase Dominance with a Commanding 7-2 Victory Over Dallar Hockey Club
The opening match proved to be a goal-fest, with the Pattabiram Strikers stamping their authority over Dallar Hockey Club in a resounding 7-2 triumph. Right from the start, the Strikers displayed their attacking prowess, led by Vijay, who found the net in the 9th minute through a well-executed counter-attack. Arun then took center stage, netting a scintillating hat-trick in the 10th, 27th, and 30th minutes, becoming the first player in the league to achieve this feat.
Alan added to the Strikers' tally in the 24th minute, while Sethu Pandian, the birthday boy, showcased his skills with goals in the 33rd and 35th minutes. Suniel sealed the deal in the 49th minute, capping off an impressive victory for the Strikers. In the second thrilling encounter of the day, Avadi Blues exhibited their superiority with a commanding 3-0 victory over KGS Hockey. Jagan opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a splendid push from the circle, finding the left corner of the goal, leaving goalkeeper Rajkumar no chance to save. Ranjith added to the Blues' lead in the 17th minute with a deft touch on an incoming ball from Jagan. Narendran then sealed the victory in the 19th minute, showcasing the Blues' attacking prowess.
Despite KGS Hockey's efforts, their midfield trio of Ashok Kumar, Rajendran, and Vinod couldn't match the dominance of Avadi Blues. The KGS defenders, Pradeep, Gopi, and Surender, performed admirably, limiting the Blues to three goals despite their relentless pressure.
